Blackjack was rescued from the hardscrabble life of a street cat by animal control. He was undernourished and flea-bitten, and nearly the victim of cruel people who tried to hurt him with flying objects. Sometimes cats carry these painful memories even into a safe home life, but Blackjack has turned out to be a mellow and adaptable cat. He does enjoy his food, however, and has filled out quite a bit. He gets along with his fellow housemates, both canine and feline, and never asserts any aggression, even when another kitty tries to take over the food bowl. Blackjack is impervious to the vacuum cleaner, and fascinated by water from the faucet. He enjoys being petted and loves to curl up with his foster mom while she reads or watches television. Blackjack would be a great companion for another easygoing kitty who likes to play or just enjoys watching water drip. Blackjack has a silent purr, but you know he's happy by the flexing paws. He is litter box trained, up to date on shots, neutered and FeLV and FIV negative.
