Celeste and Flurry began their association with PAW as kittens in 2005. They were soon adopted by a wonderful mom who showered them with love and toys and care in her apartment in Takoma Park.
Recently PAW received a call from the woman's mother to see if PAW could re-home the cats because her daughter had recently passed away at the young age of 52 after losing her battle with disease.
While her daughter had been hospitalized, she and the building manager had cared for the cats, but they were alone together most of the time. Of course they bonded, and when the PAW volunteer arrived to collect them, they were huddled together, under the covers of their mom's bed.
They are in good health, up to date on vaccinations, had already been spay, and adjusting to their foster home, other foster cats, and being handled again. They are still a little shy, but enjoy being brushed. We cannot say they enjoy having their nails clipped, but then a lot of cats don't like that part of good grooming.
We would like to re-home them together, but they are independent enough to manage solo, with a lot of human contact to replace their sister.
Oh, the way you can tell them apart, is that Celeste is all Torti pattern, DSH, and Flurry (like snow) has some white mixed with her Torti pattern and is also a DSH. To adopt either or both of them contact Susan F.
