Victor was a "neighborhood cat" living in a development, where several kind people put out food for him. When it got cold over the winter, one of them brought him inside and called PAW. Victor did not seem to be feral, and did not mind being handled by people, but he also did not seem too interested in them. PAW took him to a vet who gave Victor a clean bill of health and found a microchip in his shoulder. It turned out that he had been chipped, neutered and adopted out by a Charles County shelter several years ago. What happened to Victor in those years, and how he ended up in Suitland near the DC line, is a mystery.
Victor is a very independent cat. He will tell you when he wants some attention - he can be rather talkative, actually - and when he is done he will tell you so. Since he can be on the prickly side, he will need an experienced cat person in a house without small children for a forever home.
Victor does not mind being around other cats and he has been starting to re-learn how to play. He likes to play rough, so any other cats in his adoptive household will need to be on par with him. Dogs are not a problem, as long as they ignore him.
Victor was abandoned by people at least once in his life, so it's hard to blame him for being a bit gruff. If you would like to meet Victor and offer him a forever home, please email Carla A..
