ELIO

You can't help smiling when you meet Elio - he is such a funny little guy with his short legs and cropped tail. He will greet you enthusiastically, smiling up at you, and wagging that little tail - just delighted to make your acquaintance.

Elio was a big hit at the shelter where he ended up, as he was just so friendly and easy-going. He gets along fine with other dogs, is uninterested in cats, and is just an all-round nice guy. He would be best in a home without young children. He is a little overweight (proper diet and exercise will deal with that) but he is also well muscled and did an impressive jump into the back of a volunteer's SUV - he clearly enjoys car rides!

UPDATE Elio has now lost 10 pounds and now definitely has a waistline again! We have found that Elio is not always comfortable with other dogs but he does loves people. He is an undemanding sort of guy, who would be a great companion in a quiet home, going for walks, snuggling up with his person or people - or just snoozing at their feet.

Elio was named for the Manager of Hamburger Hamlet, Bethesda, for holding two fundraisers in support of PAW.
