HANNAH

[HANNAH ] [HANNAH ] [HANNAH ] [HANNAH ]

Hannah's breed heritage is a real mystery - she looks like a miniature (25 lb.) German shepherd! Maybe she's a shepherd crossed with an Italian greyhound, with maybe a little spitz, Schipperke and/or Sheltie tossed in, too. Whatever breed mixture she is, sure resulted in an adorable little dog! She's happy, inquisitive, friendly and playful. She does very well with children, women, men, cats and dogs - she just wants to play with everyone! Hannah appears to be housebroken, but has tried chewing a few inappropriate items in her foster home. So, she'll need close supervision and positive training to learn all the house rules. The efforts you invest in this sweet little girl will surely be repaid many-fold with non-stop tail wags and joyful devotion.

UPDATE March 18, 2009- Hannah continues to do very well in her foster home. Not long after her arrival, she went through heat, then her spay surgery, followed by a false pregnancy (her hormones made her 'think' she'd had a litter), but now she is all set! She will now sit and stay for meals and cookies and is doing very well with 'down'. She is a happy, charming girl, who wants to play, play, play. She's also quite the dancer - loving to jump up on her hind legs and paw the air with her front feet in excitement. Her favorite game is 'chase the squeaky toy'. She's even doing a good job retrieving it! After all this activity, though, she's content to go to sleep at her foster mom's feet. At least until something else interesting happens!

As is consistent with her spirited personality, she loves frolicking with other dogs (and cats, if they're game). She had a great time at a recent adoption event where she got to romp and wrestle with several other dogs. She doesn't seem to understand dogs who appreciate a more laid-back approach to socializing, though, and would likely do best with playmates with a similar temperament. Of course, dogs are like people, and their social chemistry is frequently mysterious! You just have to meet this sassy and sweet little girl and see if you (and your family members, 2- and 4-footed) are the match she is looking for.
