SIR LANCELOT

Sir Lancelot (Lance to his friends) is PAW.s knight in shining armor. He is so deserving of royal treatment in a loving home where he can feel safe and wanted for the first time in his life.

Like so many rescue dogs, Lance did nothing to deserve being thrown away. Kept as a back yard dog, then abandoned on the streets, Lance landed in the shelter before being rescued by PAW. Despite his rough beginnings, Lance has matured into a handsome, friendly dog who loves adults and children alike. He maintains a quiet dignity at adoption shows, wagging his tail tentatively, ever hopeful that he'll be noticed and that soon he'll be on his way to his forever home.

Lance is not a face-licking kind of dog, but his steady gaze and soulful eyes express his appreciation of a kind word or a scratch on the head. Smart and eager to learn, Lance knows some commands and will do anything for a treat. A bit on the thin side when he entered PAW, Lance has responded well to "food therapy" - a bit too well actually - and would love an exercise buddy or a nice back yard to play in, to help him get back his athletic physique.

Lance is easy to walk, enjoys car rides, and can still be quite puppyish in his play.

Lance would probably do best as an only dog, but could also enjoy a canine playmate as long as he's introduced slowly. His new home must be cat-free, though.
