Here is his story. Please read and if you can help, call Brad on 240-393-9621 or write to email@example.com. We’re looking for a dog-experienced person with a big heart. Shadow was rescued at one year from a horrific situation. He is a former PAW (Partnership for Animal Welfare) dog who was adopted in 2014 by Brad. Shadow had been abused, and when he was rescued, he was walking on legs that had been broken and not properly healed. He carried the emotional scars from the cruelty. Brad fell in love with him and brought him home. From the beginning, Shadow had challenges with fear and related aggressive behaviors. Brad and his neighbor spent lots of time (and money) working with him, and Shadow is mostly a sweet, loving, athletic dog. However, he can still can still be reactive if he thinks that he and his home are in in jeopardy. PAW and Brad recently began treatment for Shadow with a Board-certified vet/behaviorist, and things are looking up! So why must Shadow find a new home? Brad and his wife have started a new family and it has been recommended that Shadow be in an adult only home. Brad’s neighbor has been taking care of Shadow for a while, but now it is time to find his next foster or forever home. Shadow weighs about 58 pounds, and he’s a mix of black Lab and Chow. He is smart and funny, loves Frisbees more than food, and is happiest splashing in the creeks of Maryland.
