SKYE

[SKYSKYE ] Skye came in as a stray to an out of state shelter where her short life could have been over before it had really started. Luckily, she was pulled by a local rescue who put her into foster care until a rescue in a larger, busier area would agree to take her - and we were happy to get her. She is just too cute for words.

[SKYS
KYE ] Skye's foster told us that she has excellent house manners and is housetrained. She got on great with the family dogs and just loved being close to her foster family, curling up at her foster mom's feet whenever she was working on her computer. Skye will make a wonderful companion for someone. She loves to cuddle, loves to run round and play in the yard - in short, the perfect pocket-sized family dog.

Update

Skye has been in her foster home for a few weeks now, and boy is her foster mom impressed with how wonderful this nearly 1 year old girl is. While she's still got a lot of that puppy energy and loves to play play play, she's amazingly well behaved. She already knew how to sit when she arrived. Since then she's also learned "wait" before coming in from walks or getting out of the car, and is well on her way to knowing "down", "give" and loose leash walking. This girl is one food motivated pup! She is also house trained and is comfortable in her crate. She is doing well so far with cat-training in her foster home.

Skye is well socialized and can adjust her style of play to the dog she's playing with, and will leave alone a dog who is not interested in playing with her (ie. the resident male dog in her foster home). She is a little possessive of her food around the other dogs, but her foster mom is working on it and thinks she can learn to be more comfortable with this in the future.

Skye likes to be curled up at your feet (or in your lap if allowed). If you're busy in the house, she'll follow you around, or settle with a really interesting chew toy. All in all, Skye is an incredibly sweet, playful, loving girl who would really enjoy a home with lots of human and dog interaction if possible. Could it be yours?
